Slamming Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government, Shiv Sena mouthpiece ‘Saamna’ raked Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP)’s inability to cast Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat as the presidential candidate for NDA.
Calling BJP ideologue RSS as ‘His Master’s Voice’ (HMV), Shiv Sena said that there cannot be any doubts that Sangh is the core of the saffron party.
Hailing RSS chief, the editorial said that it was expected by the “people of the nation” to see Mohan Bhagwat as the President and that his name should have been nominated by the BJP.
“There would have been celebrations all around if had BJP nominated Bhagwat’s name. But the expectation of the people was not fulfilled,” reads the article.
Going further it says, “From working to build a Hindu nation to suppress Pakistan, Sangh has played a pivotal role”.
People have “great expectations from Narendra Modi” and they would have same with the President. Since Bhagwat will not be the President of India, now the entire onus of taking forwards the expectations and ideologue lies with the PM, it says.
Calling the PM the herald of social change, the editorial asked people to “study Prime Minister Modi’s personality.”
“At a time when Kashmir is burning and there is an attack on innocent Amarnath yatra pilgrims, with people having high expectations from the Prime Minister means there is some substance in it,” the article read.
Taking another dig at BJP, Shiv Sena said that it is only the common man of India who suffered due to demonetisation and the Goods and Service Tax (GST).
“Our assumption of demonetisation and the GST affecting the common man turned out to be true,” it said.
The article concludes saying that there are expectations from the Prime Minister. “If not from him, then from whom?”
