BJP Bengal president Dilip Ghosh on Friday threatened that he will torch CM Mamata Banerjee’s residence if the state tried to arrest him under false cases.
The shocking statement was made by Ghosh while addressing a public meeting. TMC and BJP are currently at loggerheads with each other following violence in the state.
Earlier on Friday, BJP leader Rupa Ganguly had stirred a controversy when she challenged Banerjee supporters to send the women of their families to Bengal and survive for 15 days without getting raped.
“I dare all the parties, the ones who keep flattering the Bengal government and Congress, to send their daughters, wives, and sister-in-laws to Bengal without taking any hospitality from Banerjee. If they are able to survive for 15 days without getting raped, then tell me,” Ganguly said to the news agency ANI.
West Bengal has been witnessing widespread violence for almost a month now due to protests by Gorkhas demanding a separate state followed by communal clashes in Baduria over a social media post.
