At least three terrorists have been neutralised by security forces in Brakpora area of Jammu and Kashmir’s (J&K) Anantnag district after a fierce gun-battle.
According to reports, the militants belonged to the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror outfit. It was a joint operation conducted by CRPF, J&K Police Special Operations Group (SOG) and the Army. The encounter is still underway.
“It was a chance encounter where 3 terrorists were killed”, SP Vaid, Director General of Police (DGP) of J&K said.
Earlier in the day, the Indian Army had received the input that there were 4 terrorists hiding in a house. Following the input, the joint security operation was launched post sunset by the 19 Rashtriya Rifles of the Indian Army, J&K Police SOG and CRPF.

Meanwhile, the search operation is still underway to ensure there are no other terrorists hiding in the house.
