At least 12 school children have been rescued by the security personnel after they were caught in the unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistan Army on Tuesday.
Pakistan, now targeting the civilians in the villages close to Line of Control (LoC), today resorted to heavy firing in Nowshera village from across the border.
Taking cognizance of the situation, Indian security forces rushed to village Bhawani and initiated rescue operation to get the children who were hiding inside a local village. Additionally, bullet proof vests have been sent along with the security persons for the trapped civilians.
Pakistani Army used small arms, automatics and mortars to target Indian positions in Bhawani Jhanger area of Nowshera sector in Rajouri district. There has a rise in incidents where Pakistan is targeting the civilians in Poonch and Nowshera sector for some time now.
On Monday, an Army Jawan and a 6-year-old girl were killed and three others were injured in the heavy firing and shelling from Pakistani side in Poonch and Rajouri districts.
Earlier in the day, Pakistan once again violated ceasefire along LoC in Balakot region of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir. This is the fourth ceasefire violation by Pakistan in last 48 hours.
