Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday addressed ‘Kisan Akrosh’ in Banswara district of Rajasthan. While addressing the rally Rahul Gandhi took a dig at the Central government on farmer issues. Rahul said, “We wanted to speak about farmer issues in the Parliament to today but we were not allowed to speak.”
The Congress vice-president further added that BJP-led NDA government offered loan waivers to farmers of Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka under the pressure of Congress.
Rahul Gandhi targeted the BJP government on the new tax system of GST and said, “Big traders will not have an issue with GST as they can employ 10 accountants and will get filled as many forms as they want, it is the small business man that will suffer.” He also added that BJP government passed GST in a hurry, the Congress asked them not to do so but they did not listen.
Concluding his speech, Rahul Gandhi said that Congress will build pressure on Rajasthan government to introduce loan waiver for farmers just like they did in Uttar Pradesh.
