A series of fresh protests erupted in Bengaluru where Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) members barged into Peenya station and painted the Hindi sign boards with black paint. Karnataka government has issued orders to arrest all those involved in defacing of the metro stations.

There is heavy deployment of the security forces at various metro stations to contain any such further attack on the metro stations.

As per sources, the activists barged into Peenya, Rajajinagara, Yeshwanthpur, Jayanagara and Chickpete are some of the metro stations around 4AM and defaced the signboards that had Hindi fonts.

On the other hand, KRV has said that it will continue their protests till the authorities abandon the Hindi sign boards.

This move from the activists of KRV drew condemnation from various language activists belonging to different political parties like MNS, TDP and DMK.
