A probe has been initiated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) regarding the supply of Chinese parts being camouflaged as ‘Made in Germany’ for the production line of Indian manufactured Dhanush Guns.

Dhanush Guns (155mm) are the indigenised version of Bofors artillery guns that played a crucial role during the 1999 Kargil war.

Initiating the enquiry for conspiracy and cheating, the Central Investigation Agency has now booked two firms — Delhi based firm Sidh Sales Syndicate and unknown officers of Guns Carriage Factory (GCF), Jabalpur in this issue.

In the FIR lodged by the CBI, it has been alleged that the supplier of ‘Wire Race Roller Bearing’ Sidh Sales Syndicate has secretly allowed the supply of bearings with GCF to manufacture 155mm Dhabush guns. The bearings were being camouflaged as ‘CRB-Made in Germany’.

According to reports, the CBI said that GCF officials accepted that Chinese manufactured ‘Wire Race Roller Bearings’ supplied by Sidh Sales Syndicate which were embossed as ‘CRB-Made in Germany’.
