Speaking on the ongoing investigation in Sunanda Pushkar murder case, Congress MP Sashi Tharoor on Sunday said that he has been fully cooperating with the authorities and is anxious more than anyone to get to the conclusion of the issue.
Speaking to media in Bengaluru, Tharoor said, “No one in this country can be more anxious than me to see the conclusion of this issue.”
Without naming anyone, Tharoor further said that few people were participating to get publicity out of his wife’s death case. I will not participate in their hostile agenda, added Tharoor.
“I will cooperate with authorities and not with obstreperous and publicity seeking attempts by others,” he said.
The reaction from the 61-year-old MP from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala comes a day after his stepson Shiv Menon moved Delhi High Court challenging locus standi of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy demanding a court-monitored investigation into the matter.
The justice bench headed by Justice G S Sistani will hear Tharoor’s plea on July 24.
Swamy who has filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on July 6 while talking to the media asserted that Shiv Menon (Tharoor’s step son) does not want not want him to take the case of mysterious death of Sunanda Pushkar.
Meanwhile, Delhi High Court on Thursday gave Delhi Police three days of time to present the status report of their investigation of the case.
Businesswoman and the wife Shashi Tharoor, Sunanda Pushkar was found dead in a hotel in New Delhi on January 17, 2014.
