Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who reached Madurai on Thursday morning, is all set to inaugurate former President APJ Abdul Kalam’s memorial in Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu on the occasion of his second death anniversary.
The Prime Minister is also expected to attend other functions organised for the day.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Prime Minister Modi said that he will also hoist the national flag at the memorial which was completed by the efforts of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in Pei Karumbu.
Apart from paying tributes to the former President, PM Modi will also be interacting with his family members.
A few of the events set-up for PM Modi includes a flag-off of an exhibition bus — ‘Kalam Sandesh Vahini’ — which will travel across the various states and reach Rashtrapati Bhavan on October 15. The day which is the birth anniversary of one of the most loved Presidents of India.

The Prime Minister is also expected to address a public meeting in Mandapam. He will also be distributing the sanction letters to the beneficiaries under ‘Blue Revolution’ scheme.
Going the ‘techie-way’ PM Modi will also flag off a new express train from Ayodhya to Rameswaram via video conference. The citizens will also be gifted with a plaque to mark the dedication to the nation of the 9.5-km link road on NH 87.
