Hours after Janata Dal United (JDU) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government won the trust vote in the Bihar Assembly, Former Bihar chief minister and Tejashwi Yadav’s mother Rabri Devi hit out at Nitish Kumar and said, “My sons were his target.”
“My sons were his target, they were moving forward and doing good work that was being appreciated, so he conspired with BJP,” Rabri Devi said.
Speaking on allegations of corruption, Rabri Devi said, “Who does not have property? Will Nitish Kumar and other politicians agree for probe into their properties? Why after Lalu’s family? We are not scared of anyone, will go wherever we are required to appear.”
“We had trust because he left BJP and came. We never pressurised but now he has gone back to where he came from,” Rabri Devi added.
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav hit out at Nitish Kumar and said he was one of who was most vocal in calling for a ‘Sangh mukt Bharat’.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav also took political shots at the chief minister and said, “those who voted for the Grand Alliance are feeling cheated today, who is responsible for this? Mandate was against the BJP.”
Speaking exclusively to NewsX, Tejashwi Yadav said, “Whatever I raised in the House was the truth. I asked several questions from Nitish Kumar, Sushil Modi and BJP but they had no answer. They did not respond to single question because I was telling the truth.”
Responding on Nitish aligning with the BJP, Tejashwi said, “This was already pre-planned. The political vendetta and whatever they have against me and my family.”
“I was a target because we had a Mahagathbandhan and this was done just to break the idea of Mahagathbandhan,” Tejashwi added.
Further hitting out at Nitish Kumar, former Deputy Chief Minister said, “I don’t know what was the deal with him but he always wanted to be the chief minister of Bihar.”
“I have full faith in the people of Bihar and country that they will back us because they have seen how much negative politics is going on,” Tejashwi Yadav said.
Earlier during the trust vote session in Bihar Assembly today, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar while justifying his move to break the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) with RJD and Congress said that he took the decision for the development of Bihar. He also thanked the BJP and other political parties for extending support to form the government in the state.
