Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Monday said that the saffron party has delivered a stable government to the nation as compared to the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) term where every minister “believed” themselves to be the Prime Minister of India.
“We have given a stable government. In UPA term every minister believed themselves to be the Prime Minister of India. No one considered Manmohan Singh PM,” said Shah.
Cornering Congress, the BJP president said that the country was getting to seen scams almost every month during the UPA tenure; Modi government has shown scam free rule in the three years of being in power.
Answering to a question on BJP’s role in Bihar fiasco, Shah said they did not break any party, it is Nitish ji who ended the alliance and resigned.
Shah who is in Uttar Pradesh as a part of his three-day trip also hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the surgical strikes saying that BJP has sent a strong message to the world leaders and Pakistan.
“Surgical strike has set an example to the world,” he said.
BJP president further said that by resolving the issue of One rank one pension (OROP), the party took a major step to boost the morale of Indian army men.
Shah also said that the government has taken a number of successful steps to curb the issue of black money and money laundering.
He said that all the ‘Hawala’ routes — Mauritius, Singapore — have been shut and PM Modi’s demonetisation decision has been a huge crackdown on people evading tax and involved in money laundering.
Speaking on the recent development in Gujarat, Amit Shah asked why Congress was holding the MLAs in the resort in Bengaluru.
“It seems Congress does not trust its MLAs. Why have they been made prisoners?” he said.
Shah also exhumed confidence BJP will come back to power with a majority in General Elections 2019.
