As per reports coming in, one of the accomplices of the LeT commander, Arif Nabi Dar, has also been shot dead. Dujana carried a bounty of almost Rs 15 lakh on his head. 

Sources have reported that following the killing of the terrorists, protests as well as stone pelting incidents have erupted in nearby areas.

In the ensuing encounter and exchange of fire, two terrorists were killed. The killed terrorists included Abu Dujana, a top LeT terrorist who had planned and executed major terror actions in South Kashmir.

He is believed to have replaced Abu Qasim as LeT head of operations in South Kashmir since 2015 when Qasim was killed. A local LeT cadre suspected to be Arif Nabi Dar also lost his life.

Reportedly 1 civilian has been killed in the ongoing encounter while many others are injured.

Earlier, at least 2-3 top militants were said to be trapped during an encounter as yet another terror crackdown went underway in Hakripura village between security forces and terrorists.

The terrorists were holed up in the first floor of their hideout. The security forces had to set the place ablaze to smoke them out. Abu Dujana’s body was found under rubble. 

According to reports, the search operation started at 4:30 in the morning when the joint forces got information about the local presence of 2-3 militants in Hakripura village which is in Pulwama district.

The operation which is conducted by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Rashtriya Rifles (RR) is likely to continue as sounds of gunshots are still echoing around the encounter area.
