The tall claims made by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Madhya Pradesh over improving the quality of education in the state seemed to have been merely castles in the air.

An unfortunate incident has come to light when a school was found holding classes in the toilet. Yes, you heard it right — the toilet!

Ever since the leading daily HT brought this incident to light, the story has been going viral on social media.

As per the report by HT, a group of primary students from Neemuch district of MP were seen studying on the toilet floor. The incident highlights the pathetic situation of the state’s education system. The school in situated in Mokhampura village which is almost 35 kms from the Neemuch district headquarters.

This single-teacher-run school was setup around 5 years back in the year 2012. Reports suggested that the school was being operated from a rented room for almost a year. After the room became unavailable, the children were forced to study under a tree throughout the year but during the monsoons they were shifted to the toilet.

However, the Manasa BJP MLA Kailash Chawla isn’t even aware that such a situation is prevailing in his constituency.

Speaking to HT, the single teacher of the school, Kailash Chandra said, “When the weather is fine in summer and winter, the classes are held under a tree, but now the earth is wet so I cannot hold the classes under a tree and am forced to use the toilet.”

All the concerned authorities have been informed of the matter, but everything seems to have fallen on deaf years, Kailash added.

This has for sure brought out the seriousness behind the promises made by the state BJP to its people.
