Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi was unfazed from the recent attack on him in Gujarat on Friday and took to social media, posting “We will continue to help people irrespective of Narendra Modi slogans, black flags and stones” on his Twitter handle.

The protests erupted in Banaskantha district after Rahul Gandhi visited the flood-affected areas of Gujarat. The protesters showed him black flags and chanted pro-Narendra Modi slogans on his arrival in the district.

Also, an aggravated section of the protesters pelted stones at his vehicle and smashed his car’s window.

Rahul Gandhi’s tweet post attack:

Speaking on the incident, Congress party spokesperson RS Surjewala said, “BJP goons attack Congress v-p Rahul Gandhi’s car in Lal Chowk, Dhanera, Banaskanta in Gujarat. Disgusting and disgraceful.”

According to reports, Rahul Gandhi had to address a rally in Lal Chowk but it was cancelled in view of the protests. The Congress vice-president was touring the state without the presence of elected party MLAs as they have been lodged up in a Bengaluru resort.
