On Monday, when the whole nation was rejoicing over Rakshabandhan celebrations, cricketer Irfan Pathan was too, when he posted a picture of himself wearing a Rakhi on twitter.
Falling prey to religious shaming for the second time in less than 30 days, the former Indian pacer was trolled for wearing a Rakhi. The miscreants slammed him for being un-Islamic and promoting Hinduism by wearing the precious band.
The miscreants took to debasing the post by writing cheap comments based on religious grounds, accusing the cricketer of being ‘haram’, one of many such demeaning comments. Some also suggested that the cricketer ‘isn’t following the right path to being a Muslim’. Such derogatory remarks were to be seen on the cricketer’s Social networking pages.
The photo shared on social networking sites Twitter, Facebook and Instagram page amassed both negative and positive comments.
Earlier in a similar kind of incident, the cricketer was trolled on Facebook for posting a picture of himself with his wife, the trollers subjected the picture to religious scrutiny as it showcased Irfan’s wife revealing her bare hands with nail paint on her fingers. He was called un-Islamic and bashed for not being a true Pathan.
