In what could be perceived as another jolt to Yogi Adityanath led-Uttar Pradesh government in the Gorakhpur tragedy, a complaint has been filed against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in UP along with its two ministers including Health Minister Siddharth Nath Singh.

As per reports, a father of a 5-year-old who died at the BRD Medical College, has filed a police complaint against the government including the Health Minister alleging that his child died as the oxygen supply to him was cut off.

Commenting on the matter, a police official said that the matter is being examined. No FIR has been filed in this regard, official added.

In the complaint filed by Rajbhar, a resident of Gopalganj in Bihar alleged that his 5-year-old died due to shortage of oxygen supply at the hospital.

As per reports, the child was admitted to the hospital on August 10. Rajbhar has accused Health Minister, Health Secretary and the Minister for Medical Education responsible for the death.

However, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on 12 August, rejected the media reports claiming that over 60 children died due to shortage of oxygen supply and said that a committee has been set up under the Chief Secretary to go into the gas supplier’s role and other lapses.
