NEW DELHI: His statement is likely to stir another controversy. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sakshi Maharaj has yet another time made a statement that is possible of leaving his party embarrassed. Maharaj on Friday attacked Asaduddin Owaisi’s defence of Yakub Memon and said that those who do not respect judiciary can go to Pakistan.
Reacting to the comments from Asaduddin Owaisi on death sentence awarded to 1993 Mumbai serial blasts convict, Yakub Memon, Sakshi Maharaj said, “People who can't respect Indian system and judiciary can go to Pakistan, door is open.”
Owaisi in a shocking response has criticized the capital punishment given to Memon who was found guilty in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts that killed approximately 260 people.
The MP representing Hyderabad took to social media and posted nine observations and comments on his Facebook page, one of which said that Memon had surrendered and he was not arrested.
Memon is slated to be hanged on July 30 and on Thursday; Yakub had petitioned Supreme Court seeking a stay on his execution.
