Indian Railways and Muzaffarnagar administration have launched helpline numbers in order to help family members of victims affected due to Utkal Express derailment, which killed 24 passengers and left several others injured.

A control room has also been set up by Muzaffarnagar authorities to assist the affected.

Meanwhile, rescue operation have completed in the area and track repair work is currently going on the area. According to railway officials, rail route is is expected to be cleared and traffic is likely to be restored by 7 pm. 

14 coaches of high-speed Utkal Express derailed near Khatauli in Muzaffarnagar at around 5:45 pm on Saturday evening. The train was coming from Puri in Odisha and going to Haridwar in Uttarakhand. The coaches damaged were S1 to S10 sleeper class, third AC B1, second AC A1 coach and the pantry.
