In order  to mark the 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago address and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s centenary celebrations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday addressed a students’ convention at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi. 

The Prime Minister addressed a students’ convention based on theme, ‘Young India, New India’.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday took to his Twitter account and said, “Swami Vivekananda strongly believed in the power of Yuva Shakti. He saw a vital place for youngsters in the realm of nation building.

Inspired by the ideals of Swami Vivekananda, we are working tirelessly towards realising the dreams and aspirations of our youth. 

PM Modi also shared on September 10, “Tomorrow I look forward to addressing a gathering of students on the theme of ‘Young India, New India.

  • Swami Vivekananda raised his voice against the social evils that has entered our society, PM Narendra Modi said.  
  • Swami Vivekananda said ‘Jan seva is prabhu seva’ (Helping people is like helping god), says PM Modi. 
  • People working for clean India are the real sons.
  • Vivekananda would be saddened by the state of Ganga river today. 
  • We don’t want to create robots because we want creativity. 
  • We celebrate different kind of days in colleges like rose day, etc. But have we ever thought of celebrating Tamil Nadu day in Haryana college or Kerala day in Punjab college. 

  • Build toilet before constructing temples. 

  • We must not bow down to pressure.
  • I have goosebumps listening to ‘Vande Matram’ chants here. I ask the people of India, do we have the right to say ‘vande matram’? PM Modi said while addressing students in Vigyan Bhavan. 

  • Addressing to students amid rising slogans of ‘vande mataram’, PM Modi said, “Do we really have a right to say vande mataram.” He also added that by saying this many people will be amazed and get upset.

  • Today is 9/11, this day became widely spoken about after 2001 but there was another 9/11 of 1893 which we remember, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said. 
  • Just with a few words, a youngster from India won over the world and showed the world the power of oneness,  PM Modi said.
