VK Sasikala has been sacked from the post of AIADMK‘s general secretary after resolution was passed in party’s general council meeting on Tuesday. Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) and deputy CM O Panneerselvam along with general council members and executive members were present in the meet.
Speaking on the development, spokesperson of the TTV Dinakaran’s faction of the AIADMK CR Saraswathi said that on September 11, the Madras High Court in a statement said that whatever decision the party will take has to be confirmed by the court. So they (the party) can take any resolutions or decision but it will be the court that will approve it.
Meanwhile, O Panneerselvam will now be the chief coordinator of the party and while EPS will be Assistant chief coordinator.
Tamil Nadu minister RB Udaykumar while reading the resolution said that AIADMK to be unified faction and we will retrieve ‘two leaves’ party symbol.
“All those appointed by Amma (Jayalalithaa) as office bearers, will continue. However, announcements made by TTV Dinakaran will not be binding on the party,” RB Udaykumar said.
Speaking on this matter, AIADMK’s Apsara Reddy said, “This is illegal; they do not have authorities. We will also ask for change of Chief Minister.”
While DMK spokesperson A Sarvanan said, “All this is just hogwash, they are just trying to divert people’s attention.”
