Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh who is on his 4-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday addressed a press conference in Jammu.

In the press conference, Rajnath Singh slammed Pakistan by saying that the increase in ceasefire by them shows that Pakistan is not interested in mending its relationship with India. Pakistan will stop these ceasefire violations very soon because our forces are giving them befitting reply. He said, “Our security forces are giving Pakistan’s ceasefire violations a befitting reply.”

“The Central government have decided to constitute an expert group to study problems facing people living in border areas”, said HM Singh.

Rajnath Singh even mentioned that the Central government has decided to give 3000 jobs to migrants from Kashmir valley. An amount of Rs 1080 crores have been sanctioned under this scheme.

A package of Rs 2000 Cr has been sanctioned for rehabilitation of POJK migrants living in Jammu. The distribution has been linked to Aadhaar card, added the Union Home Minister.

Talking about the migration, Rajnath Singh said that Indian government have adopted a humane approach towards migrants and displaced people. He added, “But we are strongly against illegal immigration.”

Earlier on Monday Rajnath Singh while addressing a press conference in Srinagar, he said the government will not do anything regarding Article 35A that would be against the aspirations and wishes of the Kashmiri people. “I feel there is no reason for doubt and confusion on this issue. The centre has not gone to the court in this regard and I want to assure that whatever our government will do, it will not go against the wishes and aspirations of the people.”

Rajnath Singh’s statement on Article 35A has been questioned by Congress who feels Kashmir is a very delicate situation and if it is the right time to talk about the issue.
