Heavy downpour since Tuesday night have once again affected normal life in Mumbai causing massive water-logging in the city.

Mumbai is witnessing heavy rainfall once again and not many days after Mumbai came to a standstill after thunderstorms stormed the city causing the shutdown of public transport and people stranded at various places. 

Massive Water-logging and traffic jams have been reported from various places in the Maha capital. 

More downpour and high tide are expected around 12:03PM.

Also, 5 Western Railways trains have been cancelled and 2 diverted on Central Railways. 

Heavy rains also affected airport operations in the city causing Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport to shutdown, both runways remained non-operational.

So far around 56 flights have been diverted. Meanwhile, operations have started on the second runway. Some flights have been diverted to Goa, Bengaluru, Delhi and Hyderabad. 

While heavy rains lashing the city, Mumbai Dabbawalas today said that they won’t be working today. “No Dabba delivery by Mumbai Dabbawalas due to heavy rains,” Subhash Talekar, Mumbai Dabbawala Association spokesperson said. 

Going by the reports of the MeT department, Mumbai is expected to witness heavy downpour for the next Schools and colleges have been asked to remain closed today.
