On Thursday morning, Income Tax sleuths raided the founder of Cafe Coffee Day and the son-in-law of senior Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) SM Krishna, VG Siddhartha. The officers searched his Karnataka properties including the HQ of Cafe Coffee Day chain.
Reports claimed that over 20 places are currently being searched by the I-T officials in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai and Chikmagalur.
VG Siddhartha, the founder of India’s biggest coffee chain is also known to be among country’s biggest and largest coffee bean exporter.

Apart from Karnataka, the raids were carried out in Chennai at Sical Logistics Private Ltd. It is a company which belongs by the family.
The news was highlight as AG Siddhartha is also the son-in-law of Congress veteran SM Krishna.
After giving over 46 years to the party, Siddhartha’s father-in-law Krishna had joined BJP in March this year.
