The Delhi Police has arrested one person for possession of mobile phone of Ukraine’s ambassador to India, which was snatched while the Ambassador was touring the Red Fort in New Delhi on September 22.

According to police reports, the person who snatched the mobile phone has been identified and raids are being conducted to arrest him. Although the mobile phone has been recovered.

The phone of the Ukraine Ambassador Igor Polikha was snatched by a miscreant while he was trying to click a selfie on the premises of the Red Fort.

Igor Polikha, keen photographer had gone to Red Fort to take pictures. While taking pictures, he saw a man and clicked a ‘selfie’ with him. Within few seconds this man, grabbed his iPhone and fled. The victim ran after the miscreant but he escaped in the bustling narrow streets of the old Delhi area.

The Ambassador filed a complaint with the Delhi police Commissioner and the Ministry of Home Affairs, following which the action has been taken.
