A clip of former Punjab minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Sucha Singh Langah has now gone viral. Langah has been already in crosshairs for allegedly raping a 39-year-old woman for over eight years. As per reports, the woman has been identified as the classmate of Langah’s daughter who has submitted the video as evidence to shed light in this alleged rape case. Calling the allegations as a political witch-hunt the former Punjab minister has been booked under IPC sections 376, 384, 420 and 506.

“As a responsible citizen, I forthwith resign from all party posts and from the membership of the SGPC. I have full faith in the judiciary. Therefore, I am submitting to the process of law by surrendering in the court tomorrow,” Langah was quoted by the Indian Express.

In order to prevent him from campaigning, the FIR has been registered against him, Langah said while diverting the alleged rape allegations. According to the details given in the FIR, which is registered in Gurdaspur city police station states that Langah first became acquainted with the victim in 2009, a year after the demise of her husband as she was seeking job opportunities. With the presence of her family, she met Langah for the first time in Chandigarh’s Kisan Bhavan.
