SRINAGAR: Separatist leader Shabir Shah has irked another controversy with his statement that he believed that Pakistani terrorist Usman was a hero like Indian freedom fighter Bhagat Singh.
Equating the terrorists in Kashmir with the freedom fighter has certainly not gone too well with the India.
Shah was recently detained by the Delhi Police ahead of his meeting with the Pakistan NSA Sartaj Aziz. He said that the terrorists were ‘fighting for a cause’ just like what Bhagat Singh did for his country.
“Just like Indian authorities praise and pay tribute to Bhagat Singh, those taking up arms for the sake of their freedom are our heroes,” Shah said.
Chairman of the Separatist Democratic Freedom Party, Shabir Shah was also arrested in May for waving Pakistani flags in Anantnagar area of Jammu and Kashmir.
