With the assembly polls in the Gujarat state approaching, it seems that the political fight between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress to catch people’s attention has already started. Latest to this is Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who on Tuesday, raked a controversy after he said, “ever seen women in shorts at RSS Shakhas?” Rahul Gandhi made this statement while addressing students in Vadodara to make his point of the BJP and RSS not giving importance to women. The Congress vice president is currently campaigning in Gujarat ahead of the Assembly Elections in the state.

But Rahul Gandhi’s remark did not go well with Gujarat’s former chief minister and BJP leader Anandiben Patel. The former chief minister lashed out at Rahul Gandhi and asked the Congress party to apologise for his comments. Anandiben said that Rahul Gandhi has insulted women by making such a comment. Anandiben further said that will Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi approve comments made by Rahul Gandhi.

However, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi’s remark which escalated a political fight was defended by his party. Congress party leader Shaktisingh said that Rahul Gandhi was talking about women empowerment.

Earlier in the day, BJP president Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Smriti Irani in a public gathering had hit out Rahul Gandhi and Congress party over their performance in Amethi. While countering Rahul Gandhi’s charge questioning work done by PM Modi in his 3 years of rule, BJP president Amit Shah said that Rahul Gandhi should answer what work has been done by Congress during their rule in Amethi in for 3 generations.

Rahul Gandhi had previously attacked PM Modi questioning the Gujarat model of development and termed it as a failure. Hitting back at Rahul Gandhi, BJP president Amit Shah said that Rahul Gandhi should see the development by wearing spectacles made in Gujarat and not the ones made in Italy.
