While speaking to TOI, Sports Minister Rajwade said that he completely disassociates himself from Mahto’s comment. He further added, BJP MP Mahto ‘picked up a line from his earlier statement and quoted it out of context’.
Further commenting the alleged remark, Rajwade’s spokesman told the daily that Bhaiyalal Rajwade had said that there was no need to bring artistes from places like Mumbai and Delhi as Chhattisgarh’s youngsters are ‘talented and capable’.
The remark by the BJP MP was also condemned by former CM Ajit Jogi’s son Amit Jogi. Jogi who was also present at the event when Mahto had made the remark said that he disapproved of such comments.
“It’s very unfortunate for a veteran MP to make such unsavory remarks. It clearly indicates BJP’s mindset towards women,” he added.
