Corporate Espionage Case: Second FIR registered by Crime Branch

NEW DELHI: Heading for the fresh developments in the corporate espionage case, the officials from the Crime Branch on Monday informed that second FIR has been registered in the case and another energy consultant has been arrested on the charges of obtaining the leaked documents of coal and petroleum ministries.

According to the sources, ‘identified as Lokesh, the consultant worked for Infraline consultancy firm in Noida’. Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) has confirmed the arrest of Lokesh.

The second FIR registered in the corporate espionage case involves the leakage of the coal and power ministries documents and the FIR has been lodged under the same section of encroach, obtaining stolen property, criminal conspiracy and fraud. However, the sections of the Official Secrets Act are yet to be added to the FIR. Lokesh will appear before the court today after 2 PM.

The teams of the Crime Branch are scheduled to visit the coal ministry on Monday and will check the rooms from where the scam started and happened.

Three ‘consultants’ have been arrested in the case so far. Former journalist Santani Saikia and Prayas Jain were arrested before Lokesh.

Some Petroleum ministry employees too have been arrested in the case for the alleged involvement in the case.
