The auspicious festival of Diwali marks the return of Lord Ram and Sita to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. The festival of lights also marks the triumph of good over evil as Lord Ram defeated Ravana. According to the Hindu mythology, Goddess Lakshmi was born on this day, therefore she is worshipped on this auspicious day. The festival is associated with ‘diyas’ as the residents of Ayodhya at that time welcomed Lord Ram and Sita by lighting the earthen lamps.
Diwali 2017 celebrations began on October 17 and will end on October 21. The festival of lights is a very significant Hindu festival which is celebrated in the month of Kartika according to the Hindu calendar. 1. Do not wear dark clothes during the Puja, especially black and blue. Wearing yellow or red clothes during the puja can be beneficial for you. Light a big one-face diya at the place of the worship and keep it lit the entire night.
2. Take a brand new plate and write a mantra on it with ‘Ashtnand’ (मंत्र- ऊं ह्रीं श्रीं क्लीं महालक्ष्मी मम गृहे आगच्छ आगच्छ ह्रीं नमः।। ) repeat the 11 times. Keep the plate at the place of worship and light a diya daily for the prosperity of the family.
3. If there is excessive financial crisis then take a white Rhinestone necklace and take rose flowers equal to your age. Keep the necklace and the flowers at the feet of the Lakshmi idol and after the Lakshmi Puja wear the white Rhinestone necklace. This will help a lot in recovering from the financial crisis.
