Former Home Minister of Maharashtra RR Patil dies in Mumbai

Former Home Minister of Maharashtra, 57-year-old Raosaheb Ramrao Patil was also the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Patil who was undergoing treatment for oral cancer at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital was reported to be critical today morning.

“Patil is on life support system. He is critical but stable,” said Dr. Sanjay Ogeymoghe of the Lilavati Hospital on Monday before his death.     

Patil was suffering from an advanced form of oral cancer for which he underwent surgery last year at Breach Candy Hospital.

The disease the political leader suffered was at a stage involving lymph nodes, some reports inform.
