At least 2 people have lost their lives including a 6-month-old baby in Hyderabad as the city is witnessing heavy and incessant rainfall. Water-logging in different parts of the city is creating problem for the people and has started entering the houses. All schools and colleges in Hyderabad have been asked to remain closed for the day as heavy downpour continues to lash out the city.

  • More than 20 low-lying areas have witnessed acute water logging. The rain water has also entered in the homes and people had to vacate their houses near Banjara Hills.
  • At the same location, at least 2 people have lost their lives after a wall collapsed due to heavy rainfall.
  • A physically handicapped man aged 30 years and a 6-month-old baby are being said to be the victims.
  • Residents say that they haven’t been given food yet. The entire house is wet. However, authorities who are monitoring the situation have said that rescue operations are underway.
  • Water has entered Hyderabad’s Holy Trinity Church, following incessant downpour.

  • Many parts of the city are facing problems due to water-logging after incessant rainfall. All schools and colleges will remain closed today.

  • A car got stuck due to massive flooding following incessant rainfall in Hyderabad.

  • To monitor the situation, GHMC officials are present in city. Around 5,000 food packets were being prepared to be distributed to the people, facing food shortage.

While the heavy downpour continuous to lash the city, all concerned authorities a taking stock of the situation and efforts are on to speed up the relief and rescue operation.
