Pallavi Vikamsey’s body was found on railway tracks near Parel area of Mumbai on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as the daughter of Nilesh Vikamsey, the President of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). The Pallavi was interning with a law firm in South Mumbai and she had gone missing while returning from the office. According to a Government Railway Police (GRP) official she was last seen at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station (CSMT) station around 6PM.
The 20-year-old’s family members filed a complaint with the police once Pallavi did not return home till late at night. Parel station master received a phone call from someone who reported about a body lying on the tracks between Parel and Curry Road station. A team of GRP rushed to the spot and found a dead body with multiple injuries including the head.
GRP at Dadar station registered a case and in the report also mentioned accidental death the reason. However, they are carrying out further investigation to find the actual cause of the death. The dead body has been sent for autopsy and the case has been further probed.
Pallavi texted her family saying she intended to end her life. “She sent text messages to a few family members telling them that no one should be held responsible for her actions. She then switched off her cellphone”, the police said
“We got the information about one body of a female found on track about 7.30 am between Parel to Curry Road yesterday. So we registered an ADR regarding this in Dadar GRP. Today her relatives confirmed her as Pallavi Vikamsey. After post-mortem we handed over to her relatives. Till now we found no foul play in this. A missing was registered in MRA Marg police station.” DCP GRP Samadhan Pawar told PTI.
Pallavi was a fourth year student at Pravin Gandhi College of Law in Vile Parle West and had also studied at HR College of Commerce and Economics in south Mumbai.
