Pakistan Terror Boat: Government stands by its previous statements, says Manohar Parrikar

BENGALURU: In the growing controversy over the Pakistan terror boat, the ‘Defence Ministry stands by its statement on the issue’, says Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar.
Soon after The Indian Express released a video where Coast Guard DIG BK Loshali claims of ordering to blow off thePakistan boat caught on the intervening night of December 31 off the Gujarat coast, Defence Minister addressed a media conference over the Aero India 2015 in Bengaluru and answered few tough questions raised by the reporters and maintained.
While Manohar Parrikar did not issue a clarification over the statement given by the DIG in the released video, he stated that an investigation into the same will be ordered.
“The government will order inquiry into the incident. If needed, we will take action after proper inquiry,” Parrikar said.
The minister then added that the Indian government stands by its previous statement issued over the explosion that the boat had terror links and was not being used merely for smuggling. “Defence Ministry stands by what it has said earlier. As of now we have issued a denial,” he said.
The Indian Express on Wednesday released a video where DIG Loshali is seen claiming that he ordered the Pakistani boat to be blown off.
