Petroleum ministry employees among five arrested for leaking government documents

NEW DELHI: In a possible corporate espionage case, the Delhi Police have detained five people including two petroleum ministry employees for leaking confidential government documents.

According to the reports, the Delhi Police raided the Shastri Bhavan and nabbed the two government employees including a peon and a clerk, however, they are said to have an access to the senior management’s offices in the ministry. 

Apart from the two, one of them has claimed to be a journalist. Five arrested in the case include Ishwar Singh, Asharam, Laltan Prasad, Rakesh Kumar and Rajkumar Choubey.

The crime branch has detained the five on charges of leaking or trying to get documents on policy matters. Media reports suggest that the five have allegedly leaked the official documents to business houses.

The petroleum companies are reportedly under the scanner, however there is no official word on the same.

As of now, the police officials have registered a case of burglary.
