As Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi's absence at the start of the budget session has left many in his Congress party baffled, a picture released on social media however shows that he is in Uttarakhand.
He may be missing from the Parliament but he is a rage in social media. NewsX has got the picture of Rahul Gandhi which shows that he is cooling his heels in Uttarakhand.
This photograph has been uplinked by a local Congress leader with a caption, 'Rahul is in the hills of Uttarakhand, not Bangkok'.
Having being schooled in Dehradoon, Rahul is familiar with the area and go often there. It’s now speculated that this is his chosen place for 'introspection' as well.
While speaking to NewsX, Jagdish Sharma, who is the national Vice President of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC), confirmed that Rahul Gandhi is in Uttarakhand. He also stressed that in the Bangalore session of AICC, Rahul would be elevated to the post of Congress President.
Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi's office has released a statement, rejecting the claims made by Jagdish Sharma. They said, “He is not in Uttarakhand and claimed that the pictures were taken in 2008 when Rahul was on offsite to Uttarakhand.”
Earlier on Tuesday, Digvijaya Singh publicly stated that Rahul Gandhi's move and timing was not politically correct but went on to defend his right to reflect quietly.
