According to a leading newspaper, Kejriwal said that it is wrong to assume that #AAP would stumble while running the government. Taking a dig at the political parties, the activist-turned politician said that first they challenged us to enter the political arena and said we won’t get elected, but 28 members of our party won in the #Delhi Assembly elections.
He further asked the mainstream political parties of not underestimating the power of the common man
Sounding confident about running an administration, Kejriwal stated that AAP would do a better job than Congress and #BJP. The newspaper quoted the AAP chief saying that the final decision on government formation will be taken on December 23, after seeking public opinion in the national capital until the weekend.
On the referendum issued by the #AAP on government formation, Kejrwial said that the party has received a good response from the Delhiites. Divulging details, the AAP leader said that while some have said that the party should stay away from politics, other have asked them to form the government.
He said that both the viewpoints should be respected and asserted that the party will take the decision in accordance with public opinion.
While addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Kejriwal had said that AAP would seek a "yes" or "no" from the people following a split verdict that has given no political party enough seats in the 70-member Assembly to take power on its own. Over 5 lakh replies have been received till Thursday evening from the people on the AAP poser whether it should form a government in Delhi with Congress support, said a party member.
The BJP, which ended as the single largest party with 31 seats in the 70-member house, declined to form a government. The #AAP, with 28 seats, was invited next but sought time to give its reply.
The routed Congress, left with just eight seats, offered outside support to the AAP.
