Delhi Election Results: ‘I don’t know why I lost from Krishna Nagar’, says Kiran Bedi after her defeat

NEW DELHI: In the biggest shock to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), former IPS officer Kiran Bedi who was the Chief Ministerial candidate of the party, has lost from the Krishna Nagar constituency against SK Bagga of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) with more than 2, 400 votes.

After being defeated, Bedi claims to take the entire responsibility of the defeat. Addressing the supporters and media, she said, “I want to thank the party leadership for showing trust in me. They took me as it is and did not take a single penny from me. This is rare. They gave me immense respect. They accepted me.”

Bedi further stated that her life is exactly like her. “It is an open book. We were in alignment on the value system.”

Apologizing to the people who supported her, Bedi said, “I ask for apologies. I was not able to fulfill my responsibilities. I ask for apologies from everyone who extended their support. I gave my mind, body, soul and I am happy that I got the opportunity to see the plight of Delhi.”

Kiran Bedi also apologized to the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi for living up the trust. “I apologize to the Modi for not living up to the trust, BJP gave to me.”

Kiran Bedi who left no stone unturned to ridicule Arvind Kejriwal and his AAP ahead of Delhi Assembly Election 2015after the defeat stated that she has full faith in Arvind Kejriwal is who all set to be the next Chief Minister of Delhi. “I have faith in Kejriwal and his team. I congratulate him on this victory and give him full marks,” she said, adding, “I hope Delhi becomes a world class city under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal. It is the dream of Narendra Modi.”

Speaking about her coming up plans now, Bedi said, “I never regret my decision and my choice is my responsibility. I will continue to serve Delhi in my capacity, they way I did in last 40 years. I will still remain a member of the BJP.”
