A 24-year-old female Television worker, Emma Hulse who worked as a freelance runner with a production firm in London claims that she was expelled from her job because she is ‘too good looking’.
Emma claims that she was sent home abruptly during her shift at UNIT TV in Soho and was told that ‘should be on a catwalk’ by her manager.
In conversation with Mirror, the TV worker said the manager asked her ‘Are you a model’ and ‘Why are you not at the front of house?’
‘I was quite disappointed to be sent home. I didn’t really know what to do,’ she said.
‘Maybe that company employs plain looking people and maybe if you don’t look that way they don’t take you, maybe I was a distraction. I was wearing a shirt and trousers. I really didn’t think I looked inappropriate, she added.
However, the company owner, Adam Luckwell told Mirror that Miss Hulse was dismissed from her job after a three month probation period.
Mr Luckwell was quoted saying, “The individual that made the alleged remarks was dismissed several weeks ago after a probationary period and was with the company for less than three months.”
“I was not aware that the situation had occurred with Emma Hulse, so cannot comment on that specific case,” added Mr Luckwell
