A 24-year-old man committed suicide by jumping off the Bandra-Worli Sea link in Mumbai, on Monday. The young businessman, Pawanjeet Singh, ended his life because he was heartbroken after his girlfriend got engaged to some one else.

Before ending his life, he reportedly searched on Google the fastest ways to commit suicide. The deceased, booked a cab early Monday morning and when mid-way at sea-link, he asked the driver to stop. The driver watched in shock as he climbed up the railing and jumped into the sea. The police found his body washed ashore at Bandra Fort.

Sources say that Pawanjeet had a jolly nature. Nobody in his circle knew about his love life and his broken heart after his girlfriend got engaged.

“So far, investigations have revealed that he had been in a relationship with a girl who recently got engaged, which may have been the reason he decided to take this extreme step,” a police official was quoted as saying.

The cops found that Pawanjeet had searched for fastest ways to commit suicide, while browsing through his cell phone history.

“The police browsed through his phone and learnt that Pawanjeet had looked up for different ways to commit suicide. He searched for the fastest ways to kill himself,” a source close to him said.
