On his maiden visit to Bengal on November 28, President Ram Nath Kovind was presented with a painting by the Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Terming the gift as ‘close to heart’, President Kovind said that Mamata’s gift will adorn the walls of Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi. However, the social media did not share the same thoughts as the Indian President. Many said that it looked more like a nuclear explosion. Ram Nath Kovind was on a 2-day visit to the state where he was offered civic felicitation by Bengal government and Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata.

Joining the stage with the President of India were Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi, Speaker Biman Bandopadhyay, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and city Mayor Sovan Chatterjee. Apart from the political leaders, poets, authors, singers and school students were also present at the event. While receiving the painting from the Bengal Chief Minister, President Kovind said, “I am deeply touched by the warm welcome accorded to me. I was surprised to know that it was Mamata Banerjee’s own painting. This will be in Rashtrapati Bhawan and will remain close to my heart.”

However, the Twitteratti did not follow the love and emotion which was shown by the President over the painting gifted by Mamata Banerjee. While some compared it to a nuclear explosion some claimed that even a 2-year old draws better. We have curated a few of the funny posts by the netizens who have expressed their feelings regarding the painting by Mamata Banerjee.

PS: People think that Mamata Banerjee can give a tough competition to our very own Sagar ‘Manju’ Pandey aka Anil Kapoor from Bollywood movie Welcome.
