Wireless charging is not the stuff of the future. We have already seen this in the Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 edge, Note 4 and in the Sony Xperia, Motorola and in many other phones.

But then they would talk about wireless charging on stage when they introduce the new iPhone it’s just going to sound cool (the best way to charge your smartphone). So what we are trying to say is that this year the new iPhone will most likely have wireless charging.

MacRumors obtained a note from the reliable KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who writes that Apple is developing wireless charging features for three iPhones set to be released in 2017.

Ming-Chi Kuo has developed the reputation of predicting new iPhone features with 70% accuracy. Last year for the iPhone 7 it was 90%. In fact yours truly had also predicted similar features but nobody took notice.

Anyway coming back to the topic, so introduction of wireless charging could also mean new build material, most likely it would be glass. Remember Apple already uses wireless charging for its Apple watch, however as per another report in Bloomberg, Apple could in fact be working on a true wireless charging technology that may be able to power the device from a distance.

Apple is expected to launch the successors to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus and there are strong rumors that a third iPhone could also be launched. The screen size is expected to remain the same with a new design.
