Sadhvi Pragya was termed as the face of Hindu terror by the then UPA govt in 2009 and 7 years later, the NIA in its supplementary charge sheet filed today in NIA court, has dropped all charges against her and 5 others accused of terror charges. The NIA has also watered down its case against Colonel Purohit and dropped the stringent MCOCA. The charge sheet that NewsX has accessed vindicates NewsX report on Hindu terror sham and saffron terror, terms coined under the UPA regime and perpetuated by no less than the then Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde.

In its charge sheet, the NIA has said that sufficient evidences were not found against Sadhvi Pragya and that the prosecution’s case, first probed by the Maharashtra ATS, is not maintainable. When the court asked the agency about its earlier stand of opposing the bail plea of Sadhvi Pragya, the NIA said that since its probe was not complete, they were relying on the probe done by the ATS. The Congress attacked the NIA decision to drop charges against Sadhvi Pragya and five others and said that it was an attempt by the govt to dilute the case to save saffron leaders. The govt has dismissed the allegation denying any interfere in the investigation by the agencies.
