In what comes as a massive embarrassment for the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the president has refused to clear the dual office bill that sought to appoint AAP MLAs as parliamentary secretaries in the Delhi govt. Kejriwal’s move had drawn flak from the opposition after it had appointed as many as 21 AAP MLAs with additional perks to work as parliamentary secretaries. The denial by the president comes as a jolt to the Kejriwal govt and implies that the 21 MLAs may have to face disqualification. This comes after the election commission had ruled that holding dual office was a violation of MLA rules
