Nation at 9: Did Cong really court Zakir?

By NewsX Bureau | Updated: 13 September 2016 , 11:27 pm
On Friday NewsX reported that the alleged hate preacher Zakir Naik donated Rs 50 lakhs to Rajiv Gandhi trust in 2011. Today we can confirm that the UPA government also extended an invite to this alleged anti-national through the ministry of home affairs to address police officers at India’s premier police training academy.
Ironically the invitation went out even though the UPA sat on an application for a licence request from Peace TV which is owned by Zakir Naik. The licence was being withheld because of an adverse report from the Intelligence Bureau.
The BJP has pounced on the report to once again allege a nexus between the Congress and the alleged anti-national.
