Nation at 9: Lalu backs ‘don’; can Nitish ignore ‘picture’ bomb?

What we’ve seen in Bihar today reminds many of the jungle raj of the 90s.A man with more than 35 cases against him, some as serious as abduction and murder, Mohammed Shahabuddin is out on bail.
And while he roams around like a don in the state, he has for company a sharp-shooter Mohammed Kaif with a lookout notice against his name. But the buck doesn’t just stop there.
Today, pictures of Lalu’s son Tej Pratap Yadav came to light in which he was seen posing with the very same absconder Bunty. When confronted, he developed selective amnesia saying he doesn’t recognise every man who meetshim.
But the man Nitish’s police are finding so hard to find, shooter Bunty, tracked by media contradicted the state health minister Tej Pratap claiming to be his friend.
The time is running out for CM Nitish who has chosen to remain silent even as his tall claims of good governance are falling with goons running amok.
