Nation At 9: Despite NCERT’s objections, UPA granted public funds to Teesta

By NewsX Bureau | Updated: 17 October 2016 , 11:07 pm
NewsX has accessed a scathing report prepared by a three member committee set up by the Ministry of HRD that questions UPA era grant given to Teesta Setalvad’s trust for the publication of NCERT textbooks for class 5 and 6.

According to the report accessed by NewsX, Teesta run trust was not even eligible for the grant of funds.

What’s more interesting is grant was given to Teesta’s NGO despite objections from the NCERT. Most significantly, the material published by Teesta run trust contains inflammable writings and explosive literature which reflects hatred and venom thereby falling fairly and squarely under under sections 153 a, 153 b of the IPC.
