Nation At 9: Top NDA mantri leads museum drive, but party wants ‘mandir first’

A day after the centre announced that it is constructing a museum in Ayodhya to showcase the Ramayana, the BJP has called upon the government to drop the idea and concentrate instead on building a Ram Mandir first.

To begin with the announcement yesterday had led the opposition to accuse the government of timing the move with the upcoming UP polls in an attempt to polarise the election. The centre had of course denied the rumour. But
with the party today going a step further calling the construction of a museum a lollipop, there is no denying that the BJP is banking on Ram not so much on PM Modi to deliver it the crown of UP.
