International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons has won the Nobel peace prize 2017.Norwegian Nobel Committee said that the award was given in recognition of their work to draw attention to catastrophic humanitarian consequences of any use of nuclear weapons. “We live in a world where the risk of nuclear weapons being used is greater than it has been for a long time, Reiss-Andersen, the chairperson of the Norwegian Nobel Committee said. Some states are modernising their nuclear arsenals, and there is a real danger that more countries will try to procure nuclear weapons, as exemplified by North Korea,” he added.
