A shocking incident in Gurugram has once again reignited the debate on why is sex education a taboo in India. In fact, does India have a formal government formulated sex education for school?

Unfortunately, it doesn’t, because teaching kids about sex is against our culture, against our ethos. And we should keep it under wraps.

So much so that the few schools that teach sex education actually talk about hygiene.

Worse still Indian parents don’t feel the need to. Here’s the reason why, parents should talk about sex education.

A 12-year-old girl in Gurguram was raped by her own father for 5 years and it was only when her teacher differentiated between good and bad touch that her harrowing sexual violation was discovered.

At Spotlight we debate — Is it time for India to drop the hypocrisy for the sake of our kids.
